Guy Lafleur holds a torch during the opening ceremony before a Montreal Canadiens game on Oct. 1, 2013.According to the Hockey Hall of Fame's website, the Montreal Canadiens have 57 players who have suited up for the Habs over the years and are also in the Hall of Fame. We're not including Roy 'Shrimp' Worters, who is listed as a former Canadien. Dude played one game for them back in 1929.
When you have that many iconic players, it's almost a case of, "We're gonna need a bigger Mount Rushmore" if you want to include all of those who are worthy. In fact, you can go five deep on the Canadiens' list of former greats and still come up with a group that would finish in the top half of the NHL.
When it comes to former Habs, three French Canadian superstars stand out above the rest. And, while we kind of fudged the fourth to include a player who is still part of the organization, there's little doubt he'll find himself in the Hall of Fame one day, too.
