The Boston Bruins skated earlier today (Oct. 10) as they prepare for their matchup tonight against the Montreal Canadiens. The Bruins' goal will be to bounce back from their tough opening night against the Florida Panthers and win their first game of the season.
Today's practice saw Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery test out some new lines, which are discussed here. Bruins forward Matthew Poitras, who is dealing with a day-to-day injury, once again skated with the extras.
Following practice, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery provided an update regarding Poitras. Here is what the Bruins' bench boss had to say about the young forward:
"Poitras is continuing to make his steps that we go through. Today was his first day without a red jersey."

While Poitras will not be playing against the Habs, it is good to hear that he is continuing to head in the right direction with his recovery. Here's to hoping that this continues to be the case and that he will be back in the lineup shortly.
