The New York Rangers are getting a big boost, as former Boston Bruins draft pick Ryan Lindgren is making his season debut on Tuesday (Oct. 22) against the Montreal Canadiens.

Lindgren has been sidelined since suffering an upper-body during the pre-season in a matchup against the New York Islanders. There is no question that the Rangers have missed his steady defensive play and physicality on their blueline.

Lindgren was selected by the Bruins with the 49th overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. However, he never played a game for the Bruins, as he was traded to the Rangers during the 2017-18 season in the Rick Nash trade. Given how well Lindgren has developed, this is a move that the Bruins likely regret.

In 76 games this past season with the Rangers, Lindgren had three goals, 17 points, and a plus-22 rating.
