The NHL has released the 2024-25 season schedule, and the San Jose Sharks will retire Joe Thornton's jersey on November 23rd against the Buffalo Sabres.
Tickets will be in high demand for the 5 p.m. start. Thornton is the Sharks' all-time leader in assists, and his legendary status is right next to Patrick Marleau's, who had his number retired during the 2022-23 season.
Thornton surprised fans at the NHL Draft last Friday as he announced the team's first-ever No. 1 pick, Macklin Celebrini.
According to President Jonathan Becher, Sharks season ticket sales are up, and the hype around the team's future is high.
The Sharks wanted to add a player who could score goals, and they did so in Toffoli with the indirect help of the prized No. 1 pick.
