The Vancouver Canucks have five restricted free agents, including Artrus Silovs, that must be given a qualifying offer by 5 p.m. ET today.

June 30th is an important deadline across the NHL as teams decide which young players to keep and which to let walk. Silovs, Aidan McDonough, Nick Cicek, Filip Johansson, and Jett Woo are all pending RFAs for Vancouver.

Silovs is arguably the most important qualifying offer, as he will fight for a full-time NHL spot next season as Thatcher Demko's backup.

Silovs became a hero for the Canucks during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs as he was thrust into the starting role after Demko and Casey DeSmith were injured.

Other than Silovs, there is no telling who might get a QO. Although it isn't guaranteed Silovs will be qualified, his performance in the postseason should mean a lot. Casey DeSmith is a pending unrestricted free agent, which could play a role in qualifying Silovs.

For three RFAs, Cicek, Johansson, and Woo each have arbitration rights. If the Canucks qualify all three players but don't come to an agreement on an extension or accept the qualifying offer, the players can elect to go to arbitration.

Woo is a former second-round pick back in 2018 but hasn't been able to jump to the NHL. He earned his first call-up this season but never played a game.

In 62 games with the Abbotsford Canucks, Woo had seven goals and 24 assists.

The Canucks will announce who they have qualified by 2 p.m. PT.
