Welcome to this edition of THN's Vancouver Canucks 2024-25 Report Card. This recurring 2025 off-season series features a deep dive into how each Canucks player performed last year. Today's article will focus on center Teddy Blueger, who finished the season with 26 points in 82 games.
Blueger had a successful season in Vancouver's bottom six. The 30-year-old recorded a career high in hits with 104 and won 50.2% of his faceoffs. Blueger also showed that he can be one of the best penalty-killing forwards in the league, as he was on the ice for 10 goals against during his 172:50 of shorthanded time.
The best word to describe Blueger's 2024-25 season is consistent. He was one of two players who played in every game and was able to have an impact on a nightly basis. Blueger also showed a willingness to try and get pucks to the net, as he posted a career high in shot attempts with 186.

As for Blueger's best game of the season, that arguably came on March 5 versus the Anaheim Ducks. Not only did he score, but the Latvian center won 11 of his 13 draws. Not only did the Canucks skate away with a 3-2 victory, but Blueger's strong performance earned him the second star of the game.
Looking at Blueger's analytics, they line up with other bottom-six centers who mostly play matchup roles. He finished with an Expected Goals For Percentage of 48.67 at five-on-five, while his Wins Above Replacement of -0.2 ranked tied for 24th on the team. Ultimately, Blueger is given more offensive opportunities, his analytics should improve next year.
In the end, it is safe to say that Blueger had a solid second season with Vancouver. He recorded at least 25 points for the third time in his career and was one of the first six players named to Latvia's 2026 Winter Olympics Team. Based on his performance, Blueger receives a B+ grade for the 2024-25 season.
