The Regina Pats captain was drafted 46th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed Regina Pats captain Tanner Howe to a three-year, entry-level contract. Howe, who was drafted 46th overall by Pittsburgh, led the Pats with 77 points in 68 games last season. The Prince Albert Saskatchewan forward is the third WHLer from the 2024 Draft to sign his entry-level contract, joining Berkly Catton and Terik Parascak.
Over his three-year career with Regina, Howe has 233 points in 207 games. He has also competed at multiple tournaments for Canada, including winning Gold at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Howe will be a name to watch this season as he is projected to lead the Pats in scoring once again and might be a player Team Canada looks at for their 2025 World Juniors team.
