A plethora of new NHL players have hit the waiver wire. Five of them weree current Boston Bruins, as Patrick Brown, Brandon Bussi, Jiri Patera, Billy Sweezey, and Jeffrey Viel were all placed on waivers.

However, a former Bruins top prospect has also been dealt the same fate, as Jack Studnicka has been placed on waivers by the Los Angeles Kings.

A few years ago, Studnicka was viewed as the Bruins' top prospect. However, after having trouble cementing himself a spot on the NHL roster for multiple seasons, the Bruins dealt the 2017 second-round pick to the Vancouver Canucks during the 2022-23 season.

Since being traded to the Canucks, Studnicka has also had stops with the San Jose Sharks and now the Kings. However, he failed to make LA's roster this year and is now on waivers because of it.

Studnicka appeared in 22 games last season, split between the Canucks and Sharks, recording one goal, 36 hits, and a minus-12 rating. In 36 AHL games split between the Abbotsford Canucks and San Jose Barracuda, he had seven goals and 21 points.

In 38 games over four seasons with the Bruins, Studnicka had one goal, seven points, and a minus-7 rating. He also played in five playoff games for Boston during the 2020 NHL Playoffs, posting zero points and a minus-1 rating.
