    Blueger's 2024-25 Season

Blueger was a valuable member of Vancouver's lineup during the 2024-25 campaign. He recorded 26 points in 82 games and helped the Canucks establish one of the best penalty kills in the league. Blueger also recorded over 100 hits for the first time in his career and won 50.2% of his over 1,000 faceoffs last year.

    Blueger's 2024-25 Letter Grade

Blueger received a B+ letter grade for his performance during the 2024-25 season. As mentioned, he was strong on the penalty kill and provided value as a bottom-six. Ultimately, he outperformed his $1.8 million cap hit as he was one of the most consistent forwards throughout the year.

    Blueger's 2025-26 Predications

Based on Vancouver's current roster, Blueger is projected to be either the Canucks third or fourth line center. He will also be on the first penalty kill and the center of choice when it comes to shorthanded draws. Blueger will also be headed to the 2026 Winter Olympics, as he will represent his home nation of Latvia.

The 2025-26 season will be a pivotal one for Blueger, as he will become an unrestricted free agent next off-season. If history repeats itself, the 31-year-old could be on track for a career year in order to secure one final significant contract. Considering how valuable Blueger is to Vancouver's lineup, it would also not be surprising if he is signed to an extension during the season to avoid losing him for free next July.
