The best way to describe the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is a spectacle. Every fourth of July, the top male and female eaters devour hot dogs in order to capture the illustrious Mustard Belt. This year, however, will look a little different as World Record holder Joey Chestnut, who won last year with 62 hot dogs in ten minutes, has been banned by Major League Eating due to a brand deal he has signed. With the Hall of Famer not competing, here are the four Vancouver Canucks players that could challenge for the championship.

    J.T. Miller

The winner of the vote with 39.7% was J.T. Miller, and for good reason. Voted team M.V.P. by the fans this season, Miller is ultra competitive and hates to lose. At 6'1", 218 pounds, he has the size to put away plenty of dogs and a stare that can intimidate the rest of the field.

    Conor Garland

In second was Conor Garland, who captured 27% of the vote. Despite not being the biggest guy, his energy on the ice could translate well to the competition. Garland definitely has the speed element going for him, which, as the event is time-based, could give him an edge over his fellow Canuck competitors.

    Carson Soucy

Third place in the vote goes to Carson Soucy, who, like Miller, has a massive size advantage. Listed at 6'5", 212 pounds, he should have enough room in his stomach to pound back plenty of hot dogs. Just like opponents skating towards him with the puck, these dogs won't have much of a chance when Soucy is locked in.

    Nils Höglander

Lastly, we have Nils Höglander, who received 15.9% of the vote. Despite only being 5'9", 185 pounds, Höglander could be the Seabiscuit of the group and become the unlikely champion. An energetic player who loves to cause chaos, Höglander would definitely surprise some people with how many hot dogs he could devour.
