Young Oilers Forward Goes to Minors
Another Edmonton Oilers forward is heading to the AHL. EDMONTON -- The hockey world is in the middle of trade deadline season. The Edmonton Oilers have made one trade already - adding Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for magic beans - or something like that. A few days ago the Oilers placed Sam Gagner on waivers. Yesterday they assigned him to the Bakersfield Condors. They have another roster move announced today - and it shouldn't surprise anyone. Dylan Holloway has been sent down. This isn't surprising given Holloway's age, contract status, and the fact that the trade deadline is tomorrow. This move gives the Oilers more space for the deadline - telegraphing a potential move today or tomorrow.  Holloway, 22, has appeared in 32 games this season for the Oilers, posting three goals, one assist, and a minus-3 rating. While with the Condors, he has shown flashes of his offensive potential, scoring two goals and adding two assists in four games. While this roster move is a minor one, it should raise the eyebrows of Oilers fans. We must wait and see if a trade is coming for Edmonton from here.  Subscribe to Inside the Locker Room for exclusive interviews, as well as sights and sounds from Oilers practices. Leon Draisaitl Lays Out Bruins Captain
Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl was playing heavy last night against the Boston Bruins. EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers picked up a big win against the Boston Bruins last night (Feb. 5), defeating the Original Six club in overtime by a 2-1 final score. Leon Draisatil tied the game up with 1:20 left in the third period and then quickly scored the overtime winner to help the Oilers secure two points.  Draisaitl was clearly the Oilers' hero in this victory because of his two-goal game. Without his clutch play during the final minutes of regulation and overtime, the Oilers would have been shutout by the Bruins. However, he was impactful in more ways than one during this contest.  [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17OPkEy8x78[/embed] Draisaitl's physicality was quite present throughout this matchup. He most notably threw a big but also clean hit on Bruins captain Brad Marchand that helped the Oilers gain some much-needed momentum.  While Draisaitl is understandably most known for his outstanding offensive contributions, he also can be quite effective with his physicality, as this hit on Marchand shows.  Nevertheless, this was a strong all-around performance for Draisaitl, but the hit on Marchand was the cherry on top. After his two-goal game, Draisaitl now has 32 goals to go along with 80 points in 60 games played this season.  Subscribe to Inside the Locker Room for exclusive interviews, as well as sights and sounds from Oilers practices. Former Oilers Forward Placed On Waivers
A former Edmonton Oiler is hitting the waiver wire. The NHL waiver wire has a former Edmonton Oilers forward on it today, as the New York Rangers have placed Tyler Pitlick on it.  Pitlick, 32, signed a one-year, $787,500 contract with the Rangers during this past offseason. Since then, he has appeared in 34 games with the Blueshirts, where he has one goal, four points, 84 hits, and a minus-6 rating. While he has been impactful with his physicality, offensively, he has struggled, and that likely has played a role in this waiver placement.  Teams looking for a bit more grit and forward depth could consider taking a flier on Pitlick. As noted above, his cap hit is quite low. With that, he has a good amount of NHL experience, having played in 420 games over 10 seasons.  The Oilers selected Pitlick back in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft with the 31st overall pick. Following being drafted, he appeared in 58 games over three seasons as an Oiler, posting 11 goals and three helpers.  [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmXSExztpK8[/embed] Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update on all your current (and former) Oilers. Oilers 'Obvious Fit' for Canadiens Goaltender
The Oilers are once again being viewed as a possible landing spot for this Habs goalie. The Edmonton Oilers have remarkably turned their season around, winning each of their last 16 games. Now sporting a 29-15-1 record, they are clear buyers heading into the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, and one area that they could look to improve is their goaltending. While Stuart Skinner has been playing magnificently, bringing in a veteran backup to provide him with more support could be on the agenda. Because of this, in a recent article for Daily Faceoff, Matt Larkin listed the Oilers in "The obvious fits" tier for Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen.  Allen, 33, has been connected to the Oilers several times this season. This was especially the case when they were struggling immensely during the beginning of the season. However, although Skinner has been playing like a Vezina Trophy goaltender, Allen would be a nice upgrade over Calvin Pickard as the team's backup, as Larkin notes.  Larkin also noted that Allen's postseason success (.924 SV% and 2.06 GAA in 29 games) is another reason he would be a good fit for the Oilers. Skinner notably struggled last season during them, so having Allen as another option if that scenario occurs again this year would certainly be beneficial. Nevertheless, whether it's Allen or another veteran goaltender, it would be wise for the Oilers to add to their depth at the position before next month's deadline.  [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHm7hdd1rU0[/embed] Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update on the Oilers. Former Oilers Tough Guy Comes Out of Retirement
A former Edmonton Oilers forward is resuming his professional career. Before the start of the 2023-24 season, former Edmonton Oilers forward Zack Kassian announced his retirement from professional hockey. This came after an unsuccessful PTO stint with the Anaheim Ducks.  However, after a few months away from the game, Kassian is resuming his career. This is because he has signed a contract with HC Sparta Praha of the Czech Extraliga.  Kassian, 33, is, of course, remembered most for his seven-year stint with the Oilers. It was where he cemented himself as an impactful bottom-six forward at the NHL level due to his toughness and offensive contributions. In 412 games with the Oilers, he had 55 goals and 135 points. After the 2021-22 season, Kassian's time as an Oiler came to a close, as he was dealt to the Arizona Coyotes. In his final NHL season as a Coyote in 2022-23, he had two goals and a minus-18 rating in 51 games.  Nevertheless, seeing Kassian return to professional hockey after a brief hiatus is cool. He will now look to make a big impact with HC Sparta Praha from here.  Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss update on the Oilers. Oilers Defenseman Named Trade Target By Insider
An Oilers defenseman is now being viewed as one of the league's top trade candidates. The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline is rapidly approaching. The Edmonton Oilers are expected to be quite active in trade talks leading up to it, as they are clear buyers. However, that does not guarantee that every player on their NHL roster will be staying put. NHL insider Frank Seravalli recently released his latest Trade Target Board for Daily Faceoff, and an Oilers defenseman made the cut at the No. 11 spot – Brett Kulak. Seravalli wrote this about why the Oilers could move Kulak: "It’s just that if the Oilers are going to manufacture salary cap space to make a big trade deadline acquisition, Kulak might have to be the casualty." Kulak, 30, carries a $2.75 million cap hit, so it makes sense that Seravalli views him as a possible trade candidate. The veteran defenseman has primarily played on the team's bottom pairing, but they have other internal options like Philip Broberg, who could replace him if he is moved. Kulak has appeared in 44 games this season for the Oilers, where he has two goals, three assists, and a minus-1 rating. While moving on from him would create a hole in their lineup, it may be worth some consideration if he's one of the pieces added to acquire a high-impact player. Commentator Proposes Oilers & Flames Blockbuster Trade
One prominent Oilers commentator brought up the prospect of the club making a blockbuster trade with the Flames. After a brutal start to the season, the Edmonton Oilers have turned things around big time. They currently sport a franchise-record 14-game winning streak and are third in the Pacific Division with a 27-15-1 record. Because of this, they are surely going to be buyers at the deadline. With the deadline rapidly approaching, trade talk centering around the Oilers has been picking up. While adding a goalie to support Stuart Skinner has been an ongoing talking point, could the Oilers go in a different direction because of the young netminder's recent outstanding play? In a recent episode of Oilers NOW with Bob Stauffer, Stauffer argued that the Oilers' top trade target leading up to the deadline should be Calgary Flames center Elias Lindholm.  Stauffer then discussed the possibility of the Oilers sending their 2024 first-round pick, Xavier Bourgault, and Brett Kulak to acquire Lindholm with half of his $4.8 million cap hit retained. Bringing in a high-impact forward like Lindholm would certainly be a big move for the Oilers. If Leon Draisaitl was moved to the wing, he could take over the second-line center role if acquired. However, he also could be a strong option to be their 3C or even play right wing in their top six due to his versatility. However, a notable obstacle in a potential move is that the Flames and Oilers are, of course, huge rivals. Yet, they have also made deals in the past, and Lindholm has an expiring deal, so the Flames could be open to a potential trade if the offer is right.  Nevertheless, this is a pretty intriguing trade idea from Stauffer. While it does not mean that the Oilers are actively pursuing him, seeing him become an Oiler before the deadline passes would be very interesting.  [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hI-xy8uUQPI[/embed] Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update. Oilers Send Player Down to AHL
The Edmonton Oilers made a move ahead of their game tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers look to build on their incredible 13-game run with another win tonight in front of a home crowd at Rogers Place. They will look to make it 14 wins in a row against the Columbus Blue Jackets - the last team to achieve the same feat. The Oilers are on the heels of announcing the signing of Corey Perry to a one-year contract. His addition brings tenacity and greasiness to the team that will make them harder to play against - especially in the playoffs. Yet, after this Perry move, the Oilers have now made another roster move. This time, they have loaned defenseman Phil Kemp to the Bakersfield Condors. This move was made to create enough cap space for Perry. Kemp has spent the last two weeks with the Oilers but only appeared in the club's Jan. 13 matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. During that matchup, he did not get on the scoresheet and played just 2:03 of ice time.  After his demotion, Kemp will continue to be a solid defenseman for the Condors. In 26 games this season with the AHL squad, he has five assists and a plus-5 rating.  While Kemp's stay with the Oilers was brief, he will now look to impress while down in the AHL. If he does, another call-up could be in his future before the season is over.  [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkhllcflGn4[/embed] Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update on the Oilers. Where Does Corey Perry Fit in the Oilers Lineup?
The Edmonton Oilers have officially signed Corey Perry. Where will he fit in their lineup? The Edmonton Oilers have made it official. The club has announced that they have signed winger Corey Perry to a one-year, $750,000 contract. The deal also comes with up to $325,000 of performance bonuses.  Now that Perry is officially an Oiler, the big question is where he will fit into their lineup. It is very unlikely that he will get top-six minutes upon his arrival. Instead, he should be an impactful addition to their bottom six for the second half of the season.  When looking at the Oilers' lineup, there could be a nice home for him on their third line. He could replace Derek Ryan as the right winger of that line. However, he also could provide a bit more grit and score to the club's fourth line as well. In either scenario, the Oilers' bottom six is getting a big boost with Perry being added to it.  While the Oilers have a strong cast of forwards, there is also a chance that Perry could see time on their second power-play unit. His offensive numbers may not be as high as they were during his prime years, but he is still a very effective net-front presence due to his strength and determination.  Ultimately, this Perry addition is a classic low-risk, high-reward kind of signing. They are getting a forward with a lot of experience who chips in offensively in limited minutes, plays a heavy game, and provides leadership. Expect to see No. 90 be a big part of the Oilers' bottom six for the remainder of the season from here.  Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update. Young Oilers Forward Ready For Action
The Edmonton Oilers made a move this morning before their game against the Calgary Flames. The Edmonton Oilers are looking to make the number 13 a lucky one tonight. They are taking their 12 game winning streak into Calgary to make history against the Calgary Flames. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXgVMSTCj7s[/embed] They currently are tied for the longest win streak by a Canadian team - an accomplishment they share with the 1967-68 Montreal Canadiens. Because of this, it's a matchup that all Oilers fans should be tuning in for.  The Oilers have also made a notable roster move before their contest against the Flames. Dylan Holloway has been recalled to the NHL roster, while James Hamblin has been loaned to the Bakersfield Condors.  Holloway, 22, last played for the Oilers back on Nov. 13 against the New York Islanders. During that contest, he suffered a lower-body injury that kept him sidelined until early January. Once healthy, he was sent down to the AHL, where he had two goals and four points in four games. He will now be looking to translate that offense to the NHL level with this call-up. In 14 games this season with the Oilers, Holloway has one goal and a minus-3 rating.  Hamblin, on the other hand, has played in a career-high 31 games this season for Edmonton, where he has two goals and an assist. He had settled into a good role with the team, consistently contributing in the bottom six when called upon. Tonight the Oilers and Flames will wear their Heritage Classic jerseys once again. Game time is 8 PM Mountain Time. The game will be televised on Hockey Night in Canada and Sportsnet. Oilers Star Player Excluded From All-Star Game
The final players were voted into the All-Star Game yesterday, and an Oilers forward shockingly didn't make the cut. Yesterday, the NHL announced which players were voted in by the fans. Shockingly, Edmonton Oilers winger Zach Hyman did not make the cut. When looking at how outstanding he has played this season, he is easily among the biggest, if not the biggest, All-Star snub. Hyman is having the best season of his career in 2023-24. In 38 games, he has a team-leading 26 goals and is third-place on the team in points (42). His 26 goals also tie him for fifth in the NHL with New York Rangers star Artemi Panarin.  Besides his excellent goal-scoring this season, Hyman has easily been one of the Oilers' most consistent players. Even during their roughest point of the season, he was still making an impact and has been a big reason for their turnaround.  With fan votes, some players are naturally going to get snubbed, as, in the end, a player's popularity plays a big role in the final results. However, with Hyman being one of the NHL's best players and scorers this season, it is tough to see he didn't make it.  Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update on the Oilers. Oilers Forward Voted Into 2024 All-Star Game
Leon Draisaitl has been voted into the 2024 NHL All-Star Game. Connor McDavid will not be the only player on the Edmonton Oilers playing at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game. This is because fellow superstar forward Leon Draisaitl has also been voted in to join the festivities.  Draisaitl is certainly no stranger to the All-Star Game, as this is the fifth time in his career that he has been selected for it. Draisaitl, 28, has appeared in 38 games this season, where he has 19 goals to go along with 43 points. While his pace of production is lower than last season (52 goals and 128 points in 80), he has still been a big offensive force for the Oilers. Thus, he has earned the All-Star votes from the NHL fans. Selected third-overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Draisaitl has 325 goals, 462 points, and 787 points in 676 career games. He has put together a marvelous career, and this latest All-Star selection only adds to that.  Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update on the Oilers. Oilers vs. Canadiens: On the Brink of History
The Edmonton Oilers are looking to make franchise history with a win against the Canadiens tonight. The Edmonton Oilers are set to face off against the Montreal Canadiens tonight at 5:00 PM Mountain Time. This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season, as their next contest will be on March 19.  Although the Oilers and Canadiens have yet to play each other this season, they have been connected throughout it. This is because the Oilers have been linked to all three Habs goaltenders at various points of the campaign. Now, they will get the chance to go up against Samuel Montembeault and the Habs. On the Brink of History Tonight has the chance to be a historic night for the Oilers. If they are victorious in this matchup, they will set a new franchise record by obtaining a 10-game winning streak. Since their disastrous start to the season, the Oilers have picked up their play immensely and are now on the brink of history because of it. However, they have not set it yet and will need to have a strong game against the Habs if they hope to.  The Canadiens are heading into this game with two straight losses, so they are going to look to change that tonight. Thus, the Oilers cannot take them too lightly, as it could be costly.  Game Predictions - Game's First Goal: Connor McDavid - Most Ice Time: Mike Matheson (27 minutes) - Most Shots: Leon Draisaitl (7) - Most Hits: Darnell Nurse (4) - Final Score: 5-2 Oilers Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update on the Oilers. Columbus Goalie Unhappy: Will Oilers Trade for Him?
With the Oilers needing help between the pipes, will they target a disgruntled Blue Jackets goaltender? Over the last few months, Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Elvis Merzlikins has picked up steam as a trade candidate in the NHL. Now, more fuel has been added to the fire, as the 29-year-old made it abundantly clear to reporters that he is unhappy with his current situation in Columbus and that a move could be on the way. Merzlikins shared that although he has not requested a trade, he and the team have agreed to find "a new scenario" for him. He noted that he is unhappy that he is no longer their number-one goaltender and will not be a backup goalie.  Merzlikins has essentially become the Blue Jackets' third-string goaltender. He has not played since Dec. 29 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, while Spencer Martin and Daniil Tarasov have gotten the starts.  So, with all of this, should the Oilers be in the mix for Merzlikins? At a minimum, they absolutely should be considering making a push for him. He is one of the top goaltenders on the market right now, and he would give Edmonton a much-needed upgrade in goal. Merzlikins is also having a solid season for the Blue Jackets, even with the club no longer playin him. In 23 games, he has a 7-8-6 record but also a .907 SV%.  At the end of the day, Merzlikins would have the potential to be an excellent addition to the Oilers. He has shown throughout his career that he is an effective starting goaltender. Joining a much better Oilers team could be the spark he needs to get his numbers up, too. The Oilers would need to get creative to fit him in financially. Jack Campbell, along with assets for Columbus taking on his contract, would likely need to be included. Merzlikins would be a potential long-term addition for the Oilers between the pipes if acquired. As a result, they should be paying very close attention to this situation over the next few weeks.  Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an update on the Oilers. Former Oilers Forward Nearing Return From Injury
A former Edmonton Oilers forward is inching closer to his return to the lineup. Former Edmonton Oilers forward Klim Kostin has not played for the Detroit Red Wings since Dec. 18 against the Anaheim Ducks. However, it appears that this will be changing in the near future.  Kostin was seen skating today in a regular practice jersey rather than a non-contact one. As a result, it is safe that he is inching closer to his return. Kostin, 24, was traded by the Oilers after a breakout season to the Red Wings during the offseason. In 57 games with the Oilers in 2022-23, he set career-highs in goals (11), assists (10), and points (21).  Things have not gone too well for him with the Red Wings thus far, however. In 23 games on the season, he has just two goals and an assist. It has been a tough campaign for him offensively, but he will soon have the chance to heat back up now that he is nearing his return.  Once Kostin is good to go, he will fight for his spot back in the Red Wings' bottom six.  Visit the Striking Oil Podcast website Subscribe to the Striking Oil Podcast YouTube Channel Bookmark The Hockey News Edmonton Oilers team site to never miss an Oilers update. Oilers' Line Combinations at Training Camp
Here are the lines that the Oilers are rolling with at training camp. The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for the regular season, and we have been given a look at what their lines could be. Here's a look at the lines they are currently rolling at training camp. The Oilers' top six is identical to what they rolled with at their captain's skate earlier this month. Seeing Connor Brown and Connor McDavid reunite on a line together was expected. Meanwhile, the Oilers are spreading out their superstars by having Draisaitl as the 2C. Lane Pederson is noticeably taking reps as the 3C. This is because Ryan McLeod is dealing with a minor injury that will keep him out day-to-day. Sam Gagner is also missing from practice and will not play in any preseason games. Meanwhile, fellow PTO recipients Adam Erne and Brandon Sutter are filling out spots in the bottom portion of the lineup. Related: Underrated Oilers Center Inspires Young Sabres' Prospect The Evan Bouchard and Darnell Nurse pairing were together at the captain's skate and continue to be at training camp. The same can be said for Brett Kulak and Cody Ceci. However, Philip Broberg has a new partner in Vincent Desharnais, as Mattias Ekholm is currently sidelined due to a hip flexor injury. Related: Legendary NHLer Would Jump at Chance to Play Wing With McDavid Rounding off the defensive depth are Markus Niemelainen and Ben Gleason. They both are competing for an extra defenseman role at the NHL level. As for the goalies, naturally, we are seeing Stuart Skinner and Jack Campbell as the main tandem. Oilers Announce 2023-24 Training Camp Roster
The Edmonton Oilers' training camp roster has been announced. The Edmonton Oilers have announced their 2023-24 training camp roster. Here's the complete list, excluding Adam Erne, as he was not signed to his professional tryout (PTO) contract at the time this list was printed. The Oilers have an array of players whom fans should watch very closely at training. Erne and Brandon Sutter are certainly among them, as they each are hoping to land contracts before the start of the regular season. However, fellow PTO signee Sam Gagner will not be participating in any preseason games.  We also will see several Oilers prospects in action at training camp. The most notable of the bunch include Xavier Bourgault, Beau Akey, Carter Savoie, Tyler Tullio, and Jayden Grubbe.  Related: Legendary NHLer Would Jump at Chance to Play Wing With McDavid Training camp will also provide us with the opportunity to see Oilers newcomers like Connor Brown and Lane Pederson in action. Yet, the Oilers have a notable absence at the beginning of camp, as Mattias Ekholm is missing the start of training camp due to a hip flexor.  The Oilers' first preseason game takes place on Sep. 24 against the Winnipeg Jets. Oilers' Forward Has 60-Goal Potential
This Oilers star forward has the potential to score 60 goals this season. Yesterday, I discussed goal-scoring projections for Edmonton Oilers offseason addition Connor Brown. For today's edition of the goal-scoring projections series, let's focus on superstar forward Leon Draisaitl. Related: 3 Oilers' Superstars With the Best Middle Names Draisaitl, 27, had a remarkable 2022-23 season for the Oilers. In 80 games, he scored 52 goals and recorded a career-high 128 points. This was the third time in his career that he had at least 50 goals in a season and the fourth time he hit the 100-point mark.  Heading into 2023-24, it is fair to assume that Draisaitl will have another excellent campaign. THN Oilers site editor Caleb Kerney recently put out a massive prediction for Draisaitl. He sees Draisaitl hitting 62 goals and 132 points in 2023-24. With the way Draisaitl has been trending, this certainly seems possible.  Related: Underrated Oilers Center Inspires Young Sabres' Prospect Bob Stauffer tweeted out point projections for each Oilers forward back in August. His prediction for Draisaitl was a bit more conservative than Kerney's, as he sees the superstar hitting 52 goals yet again this season. theScore.com's Kayla Douglas recently predicted that Draisatl will be second in NHL scoring this season, behind fellow Oilers superstar Connor McDavid. Although Douglas did not specify a specific goal number, she predicted that he would easily hit the 50-goal and 100-point marks yet again this season. Related: Legendary NHLer Would Jump at Chance to Play Wing With McDavid As for myself, I am going to predict that Draisaitl will hit an even 60 goals this season. He seems to get better with each season that passes, as does McDavid. Thus, expect Draisaitl to hit 60 goals for the first time in his career.  Related: 3 Best Oilers' Moves From This Off-Season Related: Oilers' Best Prospect is the Next Mattias Ekholm Related: Oilers Could Have Had Maple Leafs Top Goalie Prospect

Oilers 2023-24 Goal Scoring Projections: Connor Brown
The Edmonton Oilers' most notable offseason addition was winger Connor Brown. He is expected to reunite with former Erie Otters teammate Connor McDavid on the team, as they had great chemistry. Due to this, Brown could be in a solid season. In this piece, let's focus on how many goals he could score in 2023-24.  Related: Oilers' Fans Wanted Impactful Trade This Off-Season Brown, 29, is not necessarily known for his goal-scoring but rather for his strong two-way play and aggressiveness. Over the course of his 448-game career, he has scored 90 goals, while posting 216 points. He also has hit the 20-goal mark just twice in his career. He most recently in 2020-21 with the Ottawa Senators, where he had 21 goals in just 56 games played.  Earlier this month, fellow THN writer Caleb Kerney predicted that Brown would score 15 goals this season. He sees Brown recording far more assists (32), and it is understandable when looking at his career stats.  Related: Oilers' Rookie Petrov Shines Bright in Loss In a tweet back in August, Bob Stauffer wrote predictions for each Oilers forward. When it came to Brown, he sees the scrappy winger scoring 18 goals and posting 43 points in 2023-24.  For my goals prediction for Brown, I am going to go a little higher. With Brown expected to have a top-six role with the Oilers, I see the winger scoring 21 goals in 2023-24 if he stays healthy. He is going to have plenty of high-impact offensive weapons to work with and should see time power-play time.  Related: 3 Oilers' Superstars With the Best Middle Names Alas, it will be fun to see how much of an impact Brown makes for the Oilers from here.  Related: Underrated Oilers Center Inspires Young Sabres' Prospect Related: Legendary NHLer Would Jump at Chance to Play Wing With McDavid Related: Oilers' Bourgault Influenced By NHL Great
