This month I had the opportunity to interview Shawinigan's Chad Lygitsakos, the third overall pick of the 2024 QMJHL Draft. We spoke about  the experience of getting drafted live, the shift from Under-18 AAA to the QMJHL, the opportunity to represent Team Canada at the Under-17's in November and so much more.

NHL Draft

The NHL Central Scouting department dropped its preliminary watch list which identified 38 QMJHL talents worthy of consideration -- including two first round ranked talents.

Meanwhile, the CHL's roster for the CHL/USA Hockey Prospects Challenge was released with the team featuring only two representatives from the 'Q'.

Separately, as THN's Ryan Kennedy noted on Twitter/X, it's very likely that the QMJHL -- as well as all the other individual CHL leagues -- may have their own Top Prospects games.

Speaking of drafts, the location of the 2025 QMJHL Draft has been announced -- Quebec City.

Additionally, the 2025 Memorial Cup has completely sold out.

As for an update on the Acadie-Bathurst situation. I have yet to hear anything new about the potential move to St. John since I had last tweeted about it in mid-October.

International

As mentioned earlier, the rosters for Team Canada's Under-17 teams have been announced, with eight QMJHL affiliated players who will don the maple leaf.
