    To Florida: Brad Marchand (LW)
To Boston: conditional 2027 second-round pick (will become a 2027 or 2028 first-round draft pick if Florida wins two rounds of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs and Marchand appears in at least 50 percent of the team’s playoff games)

Boston retains 50 percent of Marchand's salary

    To Boston: Henri Jokiharju (D)
    To Buffalo: 2026 fourth-round pick

    To Carolina: Mark Jankowski
    To Nashville: 2026 fifth-round pick

To New Jersey: Daniel Sprong (RW),
    To Seattle: 2026 seventh-round pick

To Ottawa: Fabian Zetterlund (LW), Tristen Robins (C), 2025 fourth-round pick
To San Jose: Zack Ostapchuk (C), Noah Gregor (LW), 2025 second-round pick

The Ottawa Senators picked up a solid left winger in Fabian Zetterlund in this package deal. Zetterlund has proven to be a promising player over the last two campaigns. He scored 44 points last season with the San Jose Sharks and is on pace to break those totals this year. In 64 games, he has 17 goals and 36 points. - Andre Leal

To New Jersey: Marc McLaughlin (C)
    To Boston: Daniil Misyul (D)

    To Utah: 2026 fifth-round pick
To Chicago: Victor Soderstrom (D), Aku Raty (RW), Shea Weber (D)

The Chicago Blackhawks do Utah HC a favor in taking on Shea Weber’s $7.858-million cap hit while acquiring defenseman Victor Soderstrom and right winger Aku Raty. Soderstrom has been up and down with the AHL’s Tuscon Roadrunners for four seasons leading up to this campaign. However, the 24-year-old has spent this season in Sweden, playing for Brynas. - Andre Leal

    To Toronto: Reese Johnson (C)
    To Minnesota: future considerations.

To Pittsburgh: Connor Dewar (C), Conor Timmins (D)
    To Toronto: 2025 fifth-round pick

To Boston: Fraser Minten (C), 2026 first-round pick (top five protected), 2025 fourth-round pick
    To Toronto: Brandon Carlo (D)

Boston retains 15 percent of Carlo's salary.

Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving made a big move to bring in Carlo, who will potentially be Morgan Rielly's latest defense partner. The former Bruins blueliner has never finished a season with a negative plus-minus rating and had a career-best plus-44 two seasons ago. - Andre Leal

    To Dallas: Mikko Rantanen (RW)
    To Carolina: Logan Stankoven (RW), 2026 first-round pick (top 10 protected, could become a 2027 unprotected first-rounder), 2028 first-round pick (top 10 protected, could become 2029 unprotected first-rounder), 2026 third-round pick, 2027 third-round pick. Read More

    To Colorado: Erik Johnson (D)
    To Philadelphia: Givani Smith (RW)

Defenseman Erik Johnson returns to the Colorado Avalanche after helping them win the Stanley Cup back in 2022. He played 13 seasons with the Avs and will get to finish the end of this campaign with the club.

Johnson only played 22 games for the Flyers this season, recording one goal and two assists. - Andre Leal

    To Buffalo: Erik Brannstrom (D)
To NY Rangers: Nicolas Aube-Kubel (RW)

To New Jersey:  Dennis Cholowski (D)
To NY Islanders: Adam Beckman (LW/C)

    To Columbus: Luke Kunin (C)
To San Jose: 2025 fourth-round pick

Kunin is as versatile as they come, with the ability to play either wing or center. The 27-year-old has 11 goals and 18 points in 63 games. Kunin earns $2.75 million against the salary cap. - Andre Leal

To Pittsburgh: Chase Stillman (RW/LW), Max Graham (C/LW), 2027 third-round pick
To New Jersey: Cody Glass (C), Jonathan Gruden (C)

The New Jersey Devils acquire a former sixth-overall pick in Cody Glass from the Pittsburgh Penguins. After losing Jack Hughes for the rest of the season, the Devils could use an offensive boost.

Glass, who will likely slide into New Jersey’s bottom six, has scored four goals and 15 points in 51 games this season for the Pens. The 25-year-old is in the final year of a two-year contract, earning $2.5 million against the cap.

To Colorado: Charlie Coyle (C), 2026 fifth-round pick
To Boston: Casey Mittelstadt  (C), William Zellers (LW) 2025 second-round pick

After acquiring second-line center Brock Nelson on Friday morning, the Colorado Avalanche moved Casey Mittlestadt in exchange for Charlie Coyle from the Boston Bruins.

The Avs have potentially mapped out the middle of the ice. Behind Nathan MacKinnon are Nelson, Coyle, and Jack Drury, who was acquired in the Mikko Rantanen trade earlier in the season. - Andre Leal

To Philadelphia: Nikita Grebenkin (RW), 2027 first-round pick
    To Toronto: Scott Laughton (C), 2025 fourth-round pick, 2027 sixth-round pick

Flyers retain 50 percent of Scott Laughton’s $3-million cap hit

The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired a middle-six center after searching for months. Scott Laughton will get plugged into Toronto’s third line and likely push Max Domi to the left wing.

Laughton will provide physicality and defensive responsibility to Craig Berube’s team for the remainder of this season. The Oakville, Ont. native has 11 goals and 27 points in 60 games for the Philadelphia Flyers. - Andre Leal

    To Winnipeg: Brandon Tanev (LW)
    To Seattle: 2027 second-round pick

While the Winnipeg Jets sit atop the NHL standings, GM Kevin Cheveldayoff wouldn’t want to hinder the team’s chemistry up to this point. However, he added a great depth winger to the bottom six of their forward group in Brandon Tanev.

He has the most blocked shots out of any forward in the NHL and isn’t afraid to throw his body around either. This addition makes Winnipeg tougher to play against and boosts their chances to make a run in the playoffs. - Andre Leal

To Chicago: Petr Mrazek (G), Craig Smith (C)
    To Detroit: Joe Veleno (C)

Petr Mrazek was put in a tough spot when Spencer Knight arrived from the Florida Panthers in the Seth Jones trade. Mrazek will likely be the second choice or at least a tandem with Cam Talbot with the Detroit Red Wings, the team that drafted him in 2010.

Detroit parted ways with center Joe Veleno, who’s been having a down year. In 56 games this season, the 25-year-old has recorded five goals and five assists. In return, Craig Smith has nine goals and 16 points in 40 games. - Andre Leal

    To Philadelphia: 2027 third-round pick
To Los Angeles: Andrei Kuzmenko (LW)

Flyers retain 50 percent of Andrei Kuzmenko $5.5-million cap hit

The Los Angeles Kings add depth to the left wing and secondary scoring to their lineup with the addition of Andrei Kuzmenko. The Russian has six goals and 20 points in 44 games this season.

This is the second time the 29-year-old has been traded this season. He was acquired by the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan. 30 from the Calgary Flames with Jakob Pelletier in exchange for Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee. - Andre Leal

    To Winnipeg: Luke Schenn (D)
    To Pittsburgh: 2026 second-round pick, 2027 fourth-round pick

This is the second time in two days that Luke Schenn has been traded. On Wednesday he was acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins with Tommy Novak from the Nashville Predators for Michael Bunting.

The 6-foot-2 defenseman has won two Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning and will look to help the Winnipeg Jets win their first Cup in franchise history. The Jets are currently first in the NHL with 90 points in 63 games. - Andre Leal

To Ottawa: Dylan Cozens (C), Dennis Gilbert (D), 2026 second-round pick
To Buffalo: Josh Norris (C), Jacob Bernard-Docker (D)

The Sabres weren't interested in being sellers. They've done that enough times over the past decade-plus. This is a big "hockey trade" at the deadline that gives Cozens a chance to rediscover the type of scoring he had in 2022-23, with 68 points in 81 games. He only has 31 points in 61 games this season, but The Hockey News' Ryan Kennedy thinks Cozens has the highest potential of the bunch. Norris, meanwhile has 33 points in 53 games and could potentially get top-line minutes in Buffalo but has had a history of shoulder injuries. Ottawa also had a logjam of right-handed defensemen, so left-handed Gilbert gives the squad another option on the third pair in case of injuries. - Jonathan Tovell. Read More

    To Washington: Anthony Beauvillier (LW)
    To Pittsburgh: 2025 second-round pick

Beauvillier is a nice depth addition to the Capitals' quest for their second Stanley Cup win in franchise history. The 27-year-old has 13 goals and 20 points in 63 games while averaging 13 minutes of ice time. Washington is Beauvillier's fifth NHL team in the past two seasons. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, continues to gather draft capital to either use in trades or restock their prospects pool. - Jonathan Tovell

    To Edmonton: Jake Walman (D)
To San Jose: Carl Berglund (C/LW), conditional 2026 first-round pick (if the 2026 first-rounder is in the top 12, Edmonton can choose to transfer their 2027 first-rounder instead. If they trade their 2027 first-rounder before the 2026 trade deadline, San Jose automatically gets the 2026 selection)

That is the fifth first-round pick to be traded in March, and it's for someone the Detroit Red Wings moved with a second-round pick for future considerations during the summer. That is solid work for the rebuilding Sharks.

Walman's ice time jumped up in San Jose to an average of 23:11, and he has a career-high 32 points. His 26 assists are almost three times his previous career high of nine assists set the last two seasons in Detroit. The Oilers upgraded their top-four defense group with another puck-mover who can provide offense. The big question is if he can maintain his breakout season on a new club. - Jonathan Tovell

    To Anaheim: Oliver Kylington (D)
    To NY Islanders: future considerations

The Islanders flipped Kylington to Anaheim after acquiring him in the Brock Nelson trade. He has four points in 13 NHL games this season. At his best, Kylington is a dynamic, effective skater on the back end. He was a finalist for the Masterton Trophy last season after taking the 2022-23 campaign to prioritize his mental health. - Jonathan Tovell

To Colorado: Brock Nelson (C), William Dufour (RW)
To NY Islanders: Calum Ritchie (C), Oliver Kylington (D), 2026 first-round pick, conditional 2028 third-round pick (transfers if Avalanche win 2025 Stanley Cup and Nelson plays in at least half the games)

The Avalanche got one of the top centers on trade boards in a big late-night deal. Nelson and the Islanders reportedly discussed a contract extension but couldn't come to an agreement, so the 33-year-old is off to a Stanley Cup contender. He can fill Colorado's No. 2 center role, which Casey Mittelstadt couldn't quite fulfill as well as expected, with 34 points in 62 games. Nelson has 20 goals and 43 points. But this is a promising return for the Islanders. Ritchie is the 13th-ranked NHL prospect, according to The Hockey News' Future Watch issue. He has top-six center potential with size and skill. - Jonathan Tovell. Watch More

    March 6
    To Winnipeg: Chris Dreidger (G)
    To Florida: Kaapo Kahkonen (G)

    March 6
    To Minnesota: Justin Brazeau (RW/LW)
To Boston: Marat Khusnutdinov (C), Jakub Lauko (C), 2026 sixth-round pick

The Bruins traded another pending UFA after moving Trent Frederic on Tuesday. Brazeau improves Minnesota's left wing depth while Kirill Kaprizov continues to recover from injury. The 6-foot-6 27-year-old adds physicality and some depth scoring, with 20 points in 57 games. The 22-year-old Khusnutdinov has seven points in 57 games, while Lauko returns to the Bruins less than a year after Boston traded him to Minnesota. Lauko has six points in 38 games. - Jonathan Tovell

    March 6
To NY Rangers: Carson Soucy (D)
    To Vancouver: 2025 third-round pick

The Rangers continue to remake their defense group after trading Jacob Trouba earlier in the season and Ryan Lindgren last weekend. The team allows the fourth-most shots per game in the NHL and the fifth-most expected goals against per 60 minutes, according to naturalstattrick.com. Soucy, a defensive defenseman, will be tasked with improving those numbers. He had the second-most blocked shots on the Canucks. - Jonathan Tovell

    March 6
    To Vegas: Reilly Smith (RW).
To NY Rangers: Brendan Brisson (LW/RW), 2025 third-round pick
Rangers retain 50 percent of Smith's cap hit

The Vegas Golden Knights traded another one of their first-round draft prospects at the trade deadline. Trevor Connelly (19th in 2024) is their only one left now. But they bring back an original Golden Misfit in Reilly Smith, who has 29 points in 58 games this season, his lowest scoring rate since 2020-21. Brisson, 23, hasn't found a way to make the NHL full-time yet and has 19 points in 45 AHL games this season. The Rangers retained salary but still freed about $1.875 million in cap space in case they want to make more trades, according to PuckPedia. - Jonathan Tovell

    March 6
To Florida: Nico Sturm (C), 2027 seventh-round pick
To San Jose: 2026 fourth-round pick

Depth for a Stanley Cup contender doesn't hurt. Sturm has 13 points in 47 games this season, but he's quite effective at taking faceoffs, winning 62.7 percent of his 279 draws in 2024-25. - Jonathan Tovell

    March 6
To New Jersey: Brian Dumoulin (D)
To Anaheim: Herman Traff (RW), 2025 second-round pick

Anaheim retains 50 percent of Dumoulin's cap hit

The New Jersey Devils have the second-fewest goals against per game in the NHL, and they bring in a defensive defenseman who has 19 takeaways this season, the second-most among Ducks players. Remember the Devils lost center Jack Hughes for the rest of the season after shoulder surgery, so filling the hole on offense will be important as well in the next day. Traff was New Jersey's No. 10-ranked prospect in The Hockey News' Future Watch 2025 issue and brings more size to Anaheim's future. If Dumoulin getting this return suggests this year's trade deadline season remains a seller's market. - Jonathan Tovell

    March 5
To Pittsburgh: Luke Schenn (D), Tommy Novak (C)
To Nashville: Michael Bunting (LW), 2026 fourth-round pick

After trading Vincent Desharnais earlier in the evening, the Penguins bring in fellow right-handed defenseman Luke Schenn, who is signed through next season at a $2.75-million cap hit. His 228 hits this season rank first among NHL defensemen and third among all players. Novak is an intriguing addition because he has two 40-point seasons while averaging just over 14 minutes in ice time. Keeping that up in Pittsburgh for the next three seasons will be huge for the team's depth. Bunting, meanwhile, couldn't replicate the rate of production he had after joining the Pens after last year's trade deadline, but he can help Nashville try again next season. - Jonathan Tovell

    March 5
To San Jose: Vincent Desharnais (D)
    To Pittsburgh: 2028 fifth-round pick

Although the draft pick is in 2028, Penguins GM Kyle Dubas continues to increase the team's draft capital while freeing cap space. Pittsburgh's prospect pool earned a C+ rating in The Hockey News' Future Watch 2025 issue (now available in print and in the online Archive). Desharnais' contract runs through next season with a $2-million cap hit. - Jonathan Tovell

    March 5
To Tampa Bay: Oliver Bjorkstrand (RW), Yanni Gourde (C/LW), Kyle Aucoin (D), 2026 fifth-round pick
    To Seattle: Michael Eyssimont (RW), 2026 first-round pick, 2027 first-round pick (both top-10 protected), 2025 second-round pick
To Detroit: conditional 2025 fourth-round pick

Seattle retains 50 percent of  Gourde's cap hit. Detroit retains 50 percent of Gourde's remaining cap hit (25 percent of total cap hit).

The Atlantic Division arms race is on. After the Panthers acquired Seth Jones, the Lightning get to work with a big splash that upgrades their depth offense. That was a concern for Tampa Bay, which struggled to find production after their top six scoring forwards. But the Lightning clearly want to win the Cup again by thinking completely about the present than the future. Seattle, meanwhile, stocks up on valuable draft picks so they can improve their long-term success.  - Jonathan Tovell. Read More

    March 5
    To Florida: Vitek Vanecek (G)
To San Jose: Patrick Giles (RW/C)

The Florida Panthers wanted another netminder after trading 23-year-old backup Spencer Knight to the Chicago Blackhawks in the Seth Jones deal. Third-stringer Chris Dreidger has a .878 save percentage in the AHL, while Vanecek has a .882 SP in the NHL this season. Patrick Giles, a 6-foot-5, 218-pound 25-year-old, played the first nine games of his NHL career this season and has seven points in 39 AHL games. But this could be big news for top goalie prospect Yaroslav Askarov in San Jose. - Jonathan Tovell

    March 4
To Edmonton: Trent Frederic (C), Max Jones (LW), Petr Hauser (RW)
    To Boston: Max Wanner (D), 2025 second-round pick, 2026 fourth-round pick
To New Jersey: Shane LaChance (LW)

Boston retains 50 percent of Frederic's cap hit. St. Louis retains 50 percent of Frederic's remaining cap hit (25 percent of total cap hit).

The Oilers navigated tight salary cap constraints to get a needle-moving center who isn't afraid to get physical and annoy opponents. Frederic only has 15 points in 57 games this season, but he had a career-high 40 points in 82 games last season and 31 points the campaign prior.

If the 27-year-old returns to last season's scoring rate in Edmonton, the Oilers' depth scoring issue will be virtually solved. If his scoring doesn't improve, then the Oilers traded assets just to be stuck in the same situation.

The Bruins, meanwhile, have next season in mind instead of keeping pending UFA Frederic as an "own rental" in the playoff chase. - Jonathan Tovell. Read More
