To Winnipeg: Colin Miller (D)
To New Jersey: 2026 fourth-round draft pick
From THN Winnipeg: Winnipeg Jets Acquire Colin Miller from New Jersey
From THN New Jersey: Devils Trade Colin Miller to Jets
To Toronto: Connor Dewar (C)
To Minnesota: Dmitry Ovchinnikov (F), 2026 fourth-round draft pick
From THN Toronto: Why the Maple Leafs Acquired Center Connor Dewar From the Wild
From THN Minnesota: Wild Trade Connor Dewar to the Toronto Maple Leafs
To NY Rangers: Jack Roslovic (F)
To Columbus: Conditional 2026 fourth-round draft pick
Analysis: Roslovic, 27, leaves his hometown team to join the Rangers, which improved their middle six forwards by adding him and Alex Wennberg. Although Roslovic has 23 points in 40 games this season, 13 of those have come in the last 12 games. This is a big opportunity for Roslovic to increase his value ahead of free agency this summer and for the Rangers to benefit from a player looking for something to prove. They have the ninth-most goals per game ahead of Friday's games.
From THN New York Rangers: Rangers Reportedly Acquire Jack Roslovic From Columbus Blue Jackets
From THN Columbus: Jack Roslovic Trade To The New York Rangers
To San Jose: Devin Cooley (G)
To Buffalo: 2025 seventh-round draft pick
From THN San Jose: Sharks Get Another Devils Goaltender; Trade Kahkonen For Vanecek; Also Acquire Devin Cooley From Buffalo
To New Jersey: Kaapo Kahkonen (G)
To San Jose: Vitek Vanecek (G), 2025 seventh-round pick
Analysis: The New Jersey Devils appear to have a new tandem in net with Kahkonen and Jake Allen, whom the team acquired from the Montreal Canadiens earlier on Friday. While Allen is under contract through next season, Kahkonen's contract expires at the end of this campaign. This could let Akira Schmid, last post-season's first-round star for the Devils, spend the rest of this season to build confidence in the AHL. Like Vanecek, neither Kahkonen or Allen have save percentages of at least .900, so until they prove doubters wrong, the Devils haven't solved their goaltending issues just yet.
From THN San Jose: Sharks Get Another Devils Goaltender; Trade Kahkonen For Vanecek; Also Acquire Devin Cooley From Buffalo
To Vegas: Tomas Hertl (C), 2025 third-round draft pick, 2027 third-round pick
To San Jose: David Edstrom (F), 2025 first-round pick (Retains 17 percent of Hertl's salary)
Analysis: There you have it, the buzzer-beating blockbuster on trade deadline day. Both teams did what they should be doing, with the Golden Knights upgrading and the Sharks selling veterans for futures. But the Sharks had to give up two third-round picks with Hertl, while retaining salary on a contract worth $8,137,500 per year with six years left after this one, just to get a first-round pick and first-rounder Edstrom. While they're good to have, it'll be a long rebuild if the Sharks couldn't get a better return for Hertl, who has 34 points in 48 games.
From THN San Jose: Sharks Stun Hockey World; Tomas Hertl Traded To Golden Knights
From THN Vegas: Golden Knights Acquire Tomas Hertl From Sharks
To Calgary: Nikita Okhotiuk (D)
To San Jose: Conditional 2024 fifth-round draft pick (the highest of the Chicago Blackhawks' fifth-round selections)
From THN San Jose: Sharks Trade Okhotiuk To Flames
To Tampa Bay: Matt Dumba (D), 2025 seventh-round pick
To Arizona: 2027 fifth-round pick
Analysis: Dumba hasn't gotten close to the 50 points he posted in 2017-18, and he only has 10 points in 58 games this year. The Lightning do have nine picks now in the 2025 draft, but they're without a first-rounder. Their highest pick in this summer's draft is in the fifth round. Will those draft picks help the Lightning build up a prospect pipeline to avoid a lengthy rebuild while trying to stay competitive? Adding Dumba suggests the Lightning feel they can go on a run if they just make the playoffs.
To Florida: Magnus Hellberg (G)
To Pittsburgh: Ludovic Waeber (G), 2025 seventh-round draft pick
From THN Pittsburgh: Penguins Make Goalie Trade With Panthers
To New Jersey: Jake Allen
To Montreal: Conditional third-round pick
Analysis: The third-round pick becomes a second-rounder if Allen plays 40 games next season and if whichever team he's on next season makes the playoffs. Allen has one more year on his contract after this one, but will he move the needle for the Devils? Will he turn out to be a better option than Vitek Vancek or Akira Schmid? It's worth a shot.
To Boston: Andrew Peeke (D)
To Columbus: Jakub Zboril (D), 2027 third-round pick
From THN Boston: Bruins Acquire Blue Jackets Defenseman, Send Former First-Rounder
From THN Columbus: Columbus Sends Andrew Peeke to Boston
To Philadelphia: Erik Johnson
To Buffalo: 2024 fourth-round pick
Analysis: The Flyers get a first overall pick during their rebuild, but it's the 2006 first overall pick, 35-year-old Erik Johnson. After getting a first-rounder in a deal for Sean Walker, the Flyers bring in another D-man for this season, as they still sit in a playoff spot.
From THN Philadelphia: Flyers Acquire Erik Johnson From Sabres
To Philadelphia: Denis Gurianov
To Nashville: Wade Allison
From THN Philadelphia: Flyers Acquire Denis Gurianov; Trade Allison to Predators
To Nashville: Jason Zucker
To Arizona: 2024 sixth-round pick
Analysis: At first glance, that's a surprising trade return for Zucker. But when looking at his 25 points in 51 games and his $5.3-million cap hit, it allows the Coyotes to get another pick for their cupboard while the Predators take on a cheap rental as they sit in the playoff race.
From THN Nashville: Predators Pounce Again by Trading for Zucker
To Boston: Pat Maroon (F)
To Minnesota: Luke Toporowski (F)
Analysis: Bruins players have already said Maroon is a proven winner and steps up his game in the playoffs. Last season, they had Garnet Hathaway as their gritty trade deadline acquisition.
From THN Boston: Bruins Acquire Pat Maroon From Wild
To San Jose: Klim Kostin (F)
To Detroit: Radim Simek (D), 2024 seventh-round pick
From THN San Jose: Sharks Acquire Klim Kostin; Trade Simek To Red Wings
To Winnipeg: Tyler Toffoli (F)
To New Jersey: 2025 second-round draft pick and 2024 third-round pick
Analysis: With all the powers in the West loading up, the Jets had to keep pace and grabbed a great piece in Toffoli, a veteran Stanley Cup winner and consistent goal-scorer. Surrendering a couple of decent picks was a fair price for the veteran, who will give a boost to a Winnipeg offense that is currently mid-pack in the NHL. - Ryan Kennedy
To NY Rangers: Nic Petan (F)
To Minnesota: Turner Elson (F)
Analysis: It's an AHL-level deal, although Petan has 170 career NHL games under his belt, while 31-year-old Elson has three. The Rangers could use Petan as a depth option and a Black Ace in the playoffs.
To NY Rangers: Chad Ruhwedel (D)
To Pittsburgh: 2027 fourth-round draft pick
Analysis: Ruhwedel, 33, had been with the Penguins since 2016. After splitting time between the NHL and AHL early in his Pens' tenure, he's only played NHL games in the past five seasons. Injuries and healthy scratches have limited him to 47 games this season, with one goal and four assists. The Rangers get another depth option for their blueline.
To Anaheim: Ben Meyers (C)
To Colorado: 2024 fifth-round draft pick
Analysis: The Avalanche signed the 2022 Big 10 player of the year to an entry-level deal out of college two years ago. Since then, he's only played 53 NHL games with six goals and zero assists, splitting time between The Show and the AHL Colorado Eagles. This season, he has 25 points in 32 AHL games.
To Florida: Kyle Okposo (F)
To Buffalo: Calle Sjalin (D), 2024 seventh-round draft pick
Analysis: The Sabres captain is getting a chance to go play for a Stanley Cup with the Panthers. With the Sabres once again sitting outside the playoff race, they do Okposo a solid with this deal.
To Columbus: Malcolm Subban (G)
To St. Louis: Future considerations
Analysis: With the Kuznetsov trade only announced after this Subban announcement, our first official deal of trade deadline day is a 1-for-none. Subban is assigned to the AHL's Cleveland Monsters. Could there be another goaltender move for the Blue Jackets today?
To Carolina: Evgeny Kuznetsov (F)
To Washington: 2025 third-round pick (Retains 50 percent on Kuznetsov's contract)
Analysis: The Carolina Hurricanes' move is low-risk, high-reward. Kuznetsov has one year remaining on his contract, and he'll only count for about $3.9 million against the Canes' cap hit. The 31-year-old is currently in the follow-up care phase of the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and is cleared to practise. Once he's cleared for game action, he can slot in the top six or ease in with the bottom six; the depth across all four lines is strong, so they can't really go wrong with putting him with a Seth Jarvis, a Jesper Fast or a newly acquired Jake Guentzel.
To Carolina: Jake Guentzel (F), Ty Smith (D)
To Penguins: Michael Bunting (F), Ville Koivunen (F), Cruz Lucius (F) and Vasily Ponomarev (F), conditional 2024 first-round draft pick (becomes second-rounder if Hurricanes do not make Stanley Cup final), conditional 2024 fifth-round pick (transfers if Hurricanes win Stanley Cup) (Retains 25 percent of Guentzel's contract.
Analysis: There it is. After figuring out the deal's framework and negotiating the final parts, the Pittsburgh Penguins traded star winger Guentzel to the Carolina Hurricanes leading up to midnight ET. Trading a player as good as Guentzel is very challenging because not only is it difficult to part with a stalwart skater, but getting a trade return that pays off in the long run is crucial. Bunting can fill in on the wing right away, and getting three prospects with up to two picks as well will pay huge dividends for the Penguins' pipeline. The Hurricanes will either want to sign Guentzel to a contract extension to make this deal worth it and/or win that coveted Stanley Cup in June. With Andrei Svechnikov excelling in the lineup and Guentzel joining the fold, it's on in Raleigh.
From THN Pittsburgh: Final Details Emerge in Penguins’ Jake Guentzel Trade
From THN Carolina: Hurricanes Officially Land Top Deadline Target Jake Guentzel
To Tampa Bay: Anthony Duclair (F)
To San Jose: Jack Thompson (D), 2024 third-round draft pick
To Toronto: Cade Webber (D)
To Carolina: 2026 sixth-round draft pick
From THN Carolina: Hurricanes Trade Prospect Cade Webber to Leafs for Pick
To Colorado: Yakov Trenin (F), Graham Sward (D).
To Nashville: Jeremy Hanzel (D), 2025 third-round draft pick
Analysis: The Avalanche signed 21-year-old Hanzel to an entry-level contract hours ago and then traded him to the Predators. The 21-year-old has 50 points in 58 games for the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds this season. Sward, whom the Avalanche acquired, turns 21 in September but has 73 points in 58 games for the WHL's Wenatchee Wild. But Yakov Trenin is the NHL player in the deal, bringing another bottom-six option on offense to the Avalanche. Trenin has 10 goals and 14 points in 60 games this season. The Predators acquired Anthony Beauvillier in a trade and claimed Jaret Anderson-Dolan off waivers earlier Thursday.
From THN Nashville: Predators Trade Trenin to Avalanche
From THN Colorado: Avalanche Bolster Forward Depth Trading for Trenin
To Calgary: Riley Damiani
To Dallas: Mathias Emilio Pettersen
From THN's AHL site: Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames Swap AHL Prospects
To Nashville: Anthony Beauvillier (F)
To Chicago: 2024 fifth-round draft pick
Analysis: This is the third team in two years for Beauvillier, who was traded from Vancouver to Chicago in November. In 23 games with the Blackhawks, he had two goals and six points while registering a minus-10 rating. "His last game (in Arizona) might have been one of his best — he really skating, finding his legs again after his injury," said Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson. "So that's good for him to go have an opportunity to play in the playoffs, hopefully, for them." - Michael Traikos
From THN Nashville: Predators Make Low-Risk Trade & Acquire Beauvillier
From THN Chicago: Blackhawks Trade Anthony Beauvillier to Predators
To Edmonton: Troy Stecher (D), 2024 seventh-round draft pick
To Arizona: 2027 fourth-round pick
From THN Edmonton: Oilers Add Depth With Coyotes Defenseman
From THN Arizona: Coyotes Trade Troy Stecher to Oilers
To Anaheim: Jan Mysak (C)
To Montreal: Jacob Perreault (RW)
Analysis: The deal is 1-for-1. It's a minor-league trade for now, but both players are still fairly young at 21 years old. Mysak has 13 goals and seven assists for 20 points in 48 games with the Laval Rocket this season. Perreault, a Montreal native, has seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 31 games for the San Diego Gulls. That said, neither player was a top-10 prospect for their teams in The Hockey News' Future Watch 2024 issue so check out who ranks ahead of them, and stay tuned for this trade to appear in a prospects roundup after the deadline.
From THN's AHL site: Montreal Canadiens and Anaheim Ducks Swap AHL Tenured Prospects Ahead of the Trade Deadline
From THN Anaheim: Anaheim Ducks Send Jacob Perreault to the Canadiens in Exchange for Jan Mysak
To Toronto: Joel Edmundson (D)
To Washington: 2024 third-round pick, 2025 fifth-round pick (Retains 50 percent of Edmundson's cap hit)
Analysis: One week after acquiring a depth right-shot defenseman in Ilya Lyubushkin, the Maple Leafs acquired left-shot blueliner Joel Edmundson. His six points in 44 games don't stand out, but he's a stay-at-home defenseman with valuable penalty-killing experience. With Mark Giordano and Conor Timmins out of the lineup at the moment, Edmundson could be an effective addition, but he's only averaged 16:26 in ice time per game this season. Perhaps playing him in moderation is best. As for the Capitals, that's more picks for their future after getting a second-rounder and fourth-rounder for Anthony Mantha on Tuesday.
From THN Toronto: What the Maple Leafs Gave Up in Trade With Capitals for Defenseman Joel Edmundson
From THN Washington: Capitals Trade Joel Edmundson To Maple Leafs As Sell-Off Continues Ahead Of Trade Deadline
To Vegas: Noah Hanifin (D)
To Calgary: Daniil Miromanov (D), 2025 first-round draft pick (turns into 2026 first-rounder if Vegas trades 2025 pick this week), conditional third-round pick (becomes second-rounder if Vegas wins one round in 2024) (Retains 50 percent of Hanifin's cap hit)
To Philadelphia: 2024 fifth-round pick (Retains 25 percent of Hanifin's cap hit)
Analysis: It took until the evening, but the Vegas Golden Knights got the likely top defenseman available in this year's trade deadline season. It didn't cost them a current NHL player, either. Miromanov played four games for Vegas in February and has 29 career games with seven points. They still have their 2024 first-round pick as well. With 75 percent of Hanifin's $4.95-million cap hit retained for the rest of this season, and with Mark Stone and Robin Lehner on LTIR, the Golden Knights still have about $3 million to keep going. The Flames, meanwhile, get a second first-rounder in either 2025 or 2026 to build up their prospect pool and re-signed 26-year-old Miromanov to a two-year contract extension.
From THN Vegas: Golden Knights Acquire Hanifin From Flames
From THN Calgary: Calgary Flames Stock Up In Hanifin Swap
From THN Philadelphia: Flyers Broker Hanifin Trade; Become Middle Man For Golden Knights
To NY Rangers: Alex Wennberg (F)
To Seattle: 2024 second-round draft pick, 2025 fourth-round pick (Retains 50 percent of Wennberg's cap hit)
Analysis: Wennberg, 29, has 25 points in 60 games played and is in the final year of his contract worth $4.5 million this season. Managing to get a second-round pick as part of the return made the deal worth it for the Kraken, while the Rangers found the third-line center they needed after learning that Filip Chytil was out for the season.
From THN New York Rangers: Rangers Acquire Wennberg From Kraken
From THN Seattle: Why Kraken Traded Alex Wennberg To Rangers
To Edmonton: Adam Henrique (F), Sam Carrick (F), Ty Taylor (G), 2024 seventh-round draft pick
To Anaheim: 2024 first-round pick, conditional 2025 fifth-round pick (becomes fourth-rounder if Oilers win Cup) (Retains 50 percent of Henrique's and Carrick's contracts)
To Tampa Bay: 2026 fourth-round pick (becomes 2025 fourth-rounder if Oilers don't win Cup) (Retains 25 percent of Henrique's total cap hit)
Analysis: It took until Nov. 30 for the Oilers to pass the Ducks in the standings after a massive early-season slump that led to a coaching change. Now, 31 points separate the two teams ahead of Wednesday's games, and the Oilers look poised to try again for a Stanley Cup championship. Henrique could slot in as a stellar No. 3 center or provide more offensive punch with Leon Draisaitl, according to The Hockey News' Avry Lewis-McDougall in Edmonton.
From THN Edmonton: Oilers Acquire Adam Henrique; Full Trade Details
From THN Anaheim: Ducks Send Adam Henrique, Sam Carrick to Oilers for Draft Picks
To Colorado: Casey Mittelstadt (F)
To Buffalo: Bowen Byram (D)
Analysis: This 1-for-1 deal came as a surprise around the same time as the Avalanche acquired Sean Walker from the Flyers. But it shapes up to be a good hockey trade for both squads. The Avalanche still needed to find an effective No. 2 center, as Ryan Johansen and Ross Colton didn't quite fill that role. With 47 points in 62 games, Mittelstadt is capable. The Sabres, meanwhile, have another young defenseman in Byram, who lines up with their young core. He's missed time early in his career due to concussion symptoms, but he's played 55 games so far this season, a career high.
From THN Buffalo: Sabres Deal Mittelstadt To Colorado For Byram
From THN Colorado: Avalanche trade Bowen Byram to Buffalo Sabres for Casey Mittelstadt
To Colorado: Sean Walker (D), 2026 fifth-round draft pick
To Philadelphia: 2025 first-round pick (top-10 protected), Ryan Johansen (F)
Analysis: The Flyers were reportedly in talks to keep Walker and sign him to a contract extension, but that won't happen now; instead signing Nick Seeler to a four-year deal. Getting a first-round pick during a rebuild and taking on Ryan Johansen and $4 million of his cap hit (the other half of his salary is retained by the Nashville Predators) could pay off for the team in the long term. The Avs, meanwhile, get a valuable depth player to strengthen their defense in a run for what could be their second Stanley Cup in three years.
From THN Colorado: Avalanche trade Ryan Johansen to Flyers for Sean Walker
From THN Philadelphia: Flyers Deal Sean Walker To Avalanche
To Florida: Vladimir Tarasenko (F)
To Ottawa: 2025 third-round draft pick, 2024 fourth-round pick (becomes 2026 third-rounder if Panthers win Stanley Cup) (50 percent retained on Tarasenko's contract)
Analysis: The Ottawa Senators retained $2.5 million on their fifth-leading scorer, who has 17 goals and 41 points in 57 games. They get two mid-round picks as a result. Tarasenko has a no-trade clause, and Florida was reportedly his preferred destination, so the Senators still get some picks to either build their prospect pipeline or use in other moves. As for the Panthers, the hottest team in the NHL right now, adding a former Cup champ who can still produce could go a long way in their playoff run. He could slot in on the first line with Aleksander Barkov and 45-goal scorer Sam Reinhart or play alongside Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk. They can hardly go wrong with those options.
From THN Ottawa: Senators Trade Vladimir Tarasenko to Florida, Forced to Settle for Two Mediocre Picks in Return
From THN Florida: Panthers Trade for Vladimir Tarasenko, Send Pair of Draft Picks to Ottawa
To Vegas: Anthony Mantha (F)
To Washington: 2024 second-round draft pick, 2026 fourth-round pick (50 percent retained on Mantha's contract)
Analysis: Mantha becomes a UFA after this season. With $2.85 million retained on his $5.7-million cap hit, and with Mark Stone on LTIR, Vegas has about $4.427 million of remaining space. The Golden Knights get a winger with 34 points in 56 games without trading a player, while the Capitals recoup a second-round pick in this year's draft after previously trading theirs for Connor Brown in 2022.
From THN Vegas: Golden Knights Acquire Anthony Mantha
From THN Washington: Capitals Trade Anthony Mantha To Golden Knights
To New Jersey: Kurtis MacDermid (F)
To Colorado: Zakhar Bardakov (F), 2024 seventh-round draft pick
Analysis: MacDermid, a 6-foot-5, 233-pound winger, played his first game with the Devils on Sunday against one of his former teams, the Los Angeles Kings. He logged 3:10 of ice time and three hits on six shifts. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Bardakov has spent the past three seasons with St. Petersburg in the KHL since being drafted in the seventh round back in 2021. He had six goals and 12 points in 51 games this season.
From THN New Jersey: Devils Acquire Kurtis MacDermid in Trade with Avalanche
To Toronto: Ilya Lyubushkin (D), Kirill Slepets (F)
To Anaheim: 2025 third-round pick (50 percent retained on Lyubushkin's contract)
To Carolina: 2024 sixth-round pick (25 percent retained on Lyubushkin's contract)
Analysis: Lyubushkin led all Ducks players in shot blocks, with 138 in 55 games, before his trade to Toronto. He played with Morgan Rielly for most of his first game back with the Maple Leafs after being a pair during Lyubushkin's first Toronto stint in 2022. In a best-case scenario, he gives the team positive depth on right defense.
From THN Toronto: Ilya Lyubushkin Suffers Injury in Maple Leafs Shootout Win Against Rangers
From THN Anaheim: Ducks Send Ilya Lyubushkin to Toronto Maple Leafs for Draft Pick
From THN Carolina: Carolina Hurricanes Acquire Pick as Part of Three-Team Trade
To Dallas: Chris Tanev (D), Cole Brady (G)
To Calgary: Artem Grushnikov (D), 2024 second-round pick, conditional 2026 third-round pick (transferred if Stars make Cup final) (retained 50 percent of Tanev's contract)
To New Jersey: 2026 fourth-round pick (retained 25 percent of Tanev's contract)
Analysis: Adam Proteau called this deal a huge success for the Stars, which acquired a top-four right-handed defenseman without moving any NHL-level players or top prospects. The Flames have now received three defense prospects between the Tanev and Elias Lindholm trades.
From THN Dallas: Stars Get Top Defensive Help in Major Three-Team Deal
From THN Calgary: Calgary Flames Add Another Prospect Blueliner, And Draft Pick(s) While Dealing Chris Tanev To Dallas
From THN New Jersey: Devils Acquire Fourth-Round Pick in Three-Way Deal With Flames & Stars
